I took a few closer up pics so you can see a few of the details I'm talking about. The subtle lines of the top really make it stand out and flow together with the lines of the car. The top really flows with the lines of the car and does not look like it is just set on top like most hardtops do. No doubt he drove away thinking, "Crap, why did I buy a Miata." He remarked on how he thought it was actually a Spyder coupe when he first saw it and remarked that he had never seen a hardtop so well integrated with the car. I actually had a guy in a Miata slam on brakes and pull up next to me at a gas station yesterday. My first impression and that of most entusiasts I have shown the top to have remarked at how it almost makes the car look like a factory coupe. The glass almost looks like a continous part of the top itself. You can see in the pics below how the rear glass is integrated into the top with no exterior gaskets. The top is extremely well engineered and put together. The top off course comes color matched to you car and the color match is perfect. The top looks even better than I thought it would on the car. The rear of the top hooks into two chrome brackets which are permanently mounted just forward of the engine lid.Īpperance: Of course one main reason I bought the hardtop was for it's looks. On the inside the top is secured with 4 latches simlilar to the latches on the soft top. The top itself is fiberglass and the headliner is cloth (almost like a heavy felt). I would estimate 40-50 lbs, most of which is due to the beautiful wrap-around rear glass.
